The mSDEC is a service that provides access to medical review, diagnostic investigations and urgent treatment for patients that would otherwise be admitted to the Acute Medical Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The aim is for their assessment and treatment to be completed in the same day thereby avoiding the need for admission. Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service. A Patient Information Leaflet is available.

Referral Procedure:	To use this service, you will need to be referred by a health professional. This means you must see your doctor or nurse will send your details to a service. Your doctor or nurse will refer you to the service that is the most suitable for your health needs.
How Service is Delivered:	In the acute hospital in a designated Ambulatory Emergency Care area.
Opening Times:	Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m – 20:00 p.m Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m - 17:00 p.m
Parking and Transport:	Onsite pay as you go parking
Special Educational Needs Accessible:	Service not for children or patients with complex needs
Compliments / Complaints:	The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can listen to your issues, concerns, compliments or suggestions, resolve problems where possible, and feed back to services to aid service development.
