Point 1 is a service for children and young people between the ages of 0-18 years who are experiencing the early signs of mental health difficulties. Patients must be resident in Norfolk or Waveney and have a Norfolk or Waveney GP.
The service provides assessment, support and therapeutic help by skilled professionals for children and young people who are experiencing mental health issues and emotional difficulties.

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.

Referral Procedure: We accept referrals from all agencies working with children and young people including GP’s and Schools. Parents can self refer using our SPOC (single Point of contact) freephone number. Young people over 14 can refer themselves to us using this number (0800 977 4077).
How Service is Delivered: Service users will receive an initial call for assessment and will be given some advice and guidance. Once moved to a treatment team they would be seen in a clinic, through school visits or via video call.
Opening Times: Services are available 7 days a week as required.

The single point of contact is available during the following times:
Monday9 a.m - 5 p.m.
Tuesday9 a.m - 8 p.m.
Wednesday9 a.m - 5 p.m.
Thursday9 a.m - 8 p.m.
Friday9 a.m - 5 p.m.
Saturday9 a.m - 12 p.m.
Access and Facilities: As agreed with the client's needs. A local accessible venue will be used where possible.
Special Educational Needs Accessible: Our emotional wellbeing service is available to any child or young person living in Norfolk or Waveney or registered with a Norfolk or Waveney GP.

We offer short-term interventions to address the early signs of mental ill-health, to ensure infants, children and young people go on to achieve their full potential in life such as counselling, talking therapies, parenting programmes, group work, individual interventions, information and advice.

We also work with the local community to de-stigmatise issues around mental health. Our aim is to raise awareness so that children, young people and their families understand when and how to seek support.

Young people over 14 can independently contact us using the same phone number and address.

Special Educational Needs Transition: Where appropriate, cases deemed as requiring continued involvement beyond 18 years will be referred on to other resources provided in both statutory and voluntary sector settings with an age range up to 25 years.
