Assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) also referred to as venous thrombo-embolism (VTE). Our patients are referred by either GP surgeries, out-patient departments (OPD), emergency departments (ED), GP Front Door or acute medical units (AMU).

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.

How Service is Delivered: Through emergency clinics
Opening Times: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m - 6 p.m
Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m - 6 p.m
New patients referred to the VTE Clinic, with suspected DVT, are seen Monday to Friday, 9 a.m - 2 p.m. Any patients referred out of these hours will be seen in the Same Day Emergency Clinic (SDEC) or in the Emergency Department. An answerphone is available at other times in the VTE Clinic (01603 287 809).
Parking and Transport: Main entrance, lift and toilet facilities are well sign posted and wheelchair accessible. Clear VTE Clinic signs in East Block, Level 2 (follow signage to Loddon ward).

Special Educational Needs Accessible: Children under 16 yrs old are seen in the emergency department (ED) then discussed directly with the paediatric team.
Compliments / Complaints: The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can listen to your issues, concerns, compliments or suggestions, resolve problems where possible, and feed back to services to aid service development.
