Cromer's Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) is run by experienced emergency nurses who can see and treat all forms of minor injury. Cromer's MIU sees patients over 1 year old with:

  • Minor head injuries (with no loss of consciousness/no vomiting or on blood thinning medications)
  • Simple wounds
  • Simple eye injuries, for example if you have something in your eye or a scratch on the eye
  • Minor burns
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Soft tissue injury, for example bites and stings but call 999 if you have quick swelling or struggle with your breathing
  • Simple broken bones
Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.

Referral Procedure: To use this service, you can refer yourself. This means that you can contact the service yourself and give them your details. They will tell you what they can offer you. The service will then contact you to make an appointment or explain what will happen next.
How Service is Delivered: On-site only, walk-in service
Opening Times: Open 7 days a week 8.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.
Last walk-in patient is taken at 19.45 hrs, last ambulance patient is taken at 19.30 hrs.
NB: At busy periods when demand is high the senior nurse on duty may need to alter this time.
Parking and Transport: Limited on site parking outside Main Reception.
Accessible by public and community transport.
Access and Facilities: Main entrance is well signposted and wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchair accessible toilet facilities.
Compliments / Complaints: The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can listen to your issues, concerns, compliments or suggestions, resolve problems where possible, and feed back to services to aid service development.
