Rapid access service for patients with recent onset chest pain suspected angina to be referred from their GP.
Seen by Cardiology Consultant, Specialist Registrar or Specialist Nurse and relevant testing organised or done at appointment if required.

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service but the need for this must be discussed when the appointment is made.

Referral Procedure: Referrals are via Health Professionals only.
How Service is Delivered: Clinic in Cardiology Outpatients NNUH
Opening Times: The clinic runs Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), weekdays from 9.00 a.m. A maximum of 6 appointments are available and appointments will be allocated during these times. Depending on what tests are needed the visit may last between 1 to 3 hours.
An answerphone is available at other times.
Parking and Transport: Onsite parking available (fee paying). Accessible by public and community transport. If your visit exceeds 3 hours and you are parked on the main hospital car park, the receptionist will provide you with a note so that you can validate your car park ticket and only pay the minimum fee. Please note the newer public car park signposted on the right as you approach the outpatients that issues a Blue parking ticket cannot be validated.
Access and Facilities: Main entrance, lifts and toilet facilities are well signposted and wheelchair accessible.
Special Educational Needs Accessible: This clinic is only aimed at adults over 21 years and all staff have mandatory training on Safeguarding and Child Protection. There is a Learning Disabilites (LD) Link Nurse and staff know how to refer to the LD team within the Trust.
