A 24 hour a day 7 day a week Palliative telephone advice service is available for members of the public and health and care professionals. 033 0158 8011:

  • Option 3: General Enquires

The Specialist Palliative Care Inpatient Service is for people who have complex palliative care needs including physical, emotional, social and/or spiritual needs requiring input from a specialist multi-disciplinary palliative care team, whose needs cannot be adequately managed in their current place of care. Treatment and care are agreed in consultation with patients, families and carers based on the expert knowledge of the professional team.

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.

Referral Procedure: To use this service, you will need to be referred by a health professional. This means you must see your doctor or nurse. They will refer you to the service that is the most suitable for your health needs. The service will then contact you to make an appointment or explain what will happen next.

Referrals made by patients/carers are discussed with the primary care team first.
Opening Times: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Parking and Transport: Limited onsite parking. Accessible by public and community transport.
Access and Facilities: Wheelchair accessible entrance and toilets. Loop hearing aid system.
Compliments / Complaints: The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can listen to your issues, concerns, compliments or suggestions, resolve problems where possible, and feed back to services to aid service development.
