This service will check pre-school children who might have eye problems. Any problems found will be referred to the Paediatric Ophthalmologist/Optometrist within the Eye Service.at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff. This is available for users of this service.

Referral Procedure: To use this service, you will need to be referred by a health professional. This means you must see your Doctor, Nurse or Health Visitor. They will send your details to a service. Your Doctor, Nurse or Health Visitor will refer you to the service that is the most suitable for your health needs. The service will then contact you to make an appointment or explain what will happen next.
How Service is Delivered: Service is delivered at orthoptic outpatient clinic
Opening Times: Orthoptic department at the Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. Currently the clinics are run on a Wednesday or Thursday 9am - 11:40am
Parking and Transport: Limited onsite parking. Accessible by park and ride and public transport.
Access and Facilities: Main entrance and toilet facilities are well signposted and wheelchair accessible. Loop hearing aid system available.
Special Educational Needs Accessible: As orthoptists working in the paediatric eye clinic at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital we have a wealth of experience of communicating with children, young people and their families. We provide a screening service in the following special educational schools: Chapel Road, Hall School, Clare School and Woodfields School.
