The Beccles and District War Memorial Hospital Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) is run by experienced nurses who can independently see and treat minor injuries. The facilities are supported by local GPs and the out of hours service. The MIU can deal with:
* Sprains
* Strains
* Minor cuts
* Scalds
* Minor burns
* Foreign bodies in the eyes, nose or ears
* Bites and stings with no associated complications or acute reactions

Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.

Service Delivery: Self referral.
Opening Times: Monday – Sunday 8 a.m – 8 p.m.
Injuries sustained outside of these hours should visit the nearest hospital with an A&E Department e.g. James Paget Hospital, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Ipswich Hospital.
Parking and Transport: Limited onsite parking. Accessible by public and community transport.
Access and Facilities: Main entrance and toilet facilities are wheelchair accessible.
Loop hearing aid system at reception.
Special Educational Needs Accessible: Use of communication Aids, access to key workers. Use of community information. Adherence to MCA principles, i.e. the support decisions embracing adjustments.
Special Educational Needs Contact: Heron, 111 service and the department.
Compliments/Complaints: The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can listen to your issues, concerns, compliments or suggestions, resolve problems where possible and feed back to services to aid service development.
