Ashcroft is a modern, CQC registered, residential care service for women in the village of Wicklewood, 5 miles from the town of Wymondham. Ashcroft provides specialist care and support for Service Users with complex mental health needs. The accommodation comprises of 12 bedrooms over two floors. It provides Respite Care, Extended Care and Decant placements (move on from hospital for people who are medically fit to be discharged). All ground floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. In the main part of the house, there is a communal lounge, kitchen, dining area and a garden room. There is also an art room, a large garden and patio area.
Support at Ashcroft is provided by a women only team and is available 24hrs per day, including sleep-in cover.
The length of stay is dependent on the type of service required. Extended Placements can be up to two years, Decant is for a maximum of two weeks and Respite is usually for one to two weeks.
The service is for adult women who experience mental health difficulties, and who live in Norfolk. We have one bed available to spot purchase, which can be accessed by women from any part of the country. Many of the women we support have additional complex needs, including self-harm, eating disorders and substance use issues.
